ContactS
Please contact us for general questions - not about specific animals. We keep our animal listings very current so if it is listed then it is available. Please fill out an online application - once an applicant has been approved to adopt there will be an opportunity to discuss specific animals. Questions about specific animals cannot always be answered because we have a limited number of dedicated volunteers and many, many inquiries. Thank you for your understanding.

VISITING
Visiting of the cats is done by appointment after an Adoption Application has been approved.
You can check out some of our cats on display at PetSmart in Leominster, MA. PetSmart's organization PetSmart Charities works with local animal shelters to help find animals new homes. The store provides us with a windowed display area, an isolation room, food, and other items to help take care of the cats until they are adopted. We have worked with PetSmart for many years to find homes for hundreds (thousands?) of cats. Let's place some more!
About Ahimsa
Ahimsa Haven was incorporated in 1999 as a nonprofit animal rescue group. Our mission is to find good homes for abused, abandoned, homeless and unwanted domestic animals. We raise money through donations, grants, and fundraising events in order to provide routine and emergency medical care for animals in need. Every penny we raise goes to the animals - no one gets a salary!

Ahimsa is a word meaning compassion and non-violence. No brainer for an animal rescue - right? But how do you pronounce it? It seems to be a continuing issue we have with the public. Nothing to be embarrassed about, really. Some of our volunteers even have trouble! It's just one of those words that gets us all tongue tied. So, here is your lesson in how to pronounce it:
Uh.....him.....suh
Uh.....him.....suh
Uh.....him.....suh
Ahimsa!
Uh.....him.....suh
Uh.....him.....suh
Ahimsa!
