There are various ways below to help out Ahimsa. Of course, there are the cash donations which allow us to spend money across a range of expenses such as food, housing, or vet bills. Or you can take a look at our Donation List and drop items off at the shelter or have them delivered.
If you are interested in knowing about our finances before donating please visit our Financials page. Ahimsa uses a MUCH greater percentage of our income than the larger shelters/rescues do towards helping the animals. A big reason is because we are all volunteer.

Single Donations
You can make a single monetary donation with a credit card or your Paypal account by clicking on the "Donate" image below. It's easy and goes a long way toward helping us ready our animals for their new homes.
Alternatively, go to our Facebook page and click on our "Donate" button.

Planned Giving
Another way to contribute to our success is to plan for the future with so-called Planned Giving. These include Gifts, Trusts, Annuities, and Death Benefits, to name a few. We are always in need of day-to-day funds but we also have plans to have a place of our own because, currently, we are renting our facilities in Templeton and Winchendon. Any amounts not specified for a particular purpose will be utilized by the Board as required. As a general rule, though, we tend to place any large amounts into our "Building Fund". So, won't you take the time to plan with your accountant and/or lawyer to include us in your thoughts? The many animals we save will be very appreciative. Thank You.

The Cost of A Cat - Just The Facts
Sometimes people wonder why we charge for our animals and they have a difficult time wrapping their minds around the $220 adoption fee for our cats. Let's take the time to see what it takes. Ahimsa Haven makes sure that our cats are ready to go when they are adopted. Prior to adoption we make sure that they receive all of the necessary care to start their lives on a good path. The table shows the typical procedures we do along with the best case cost and highest cost for each. The overall amount depends on the availability of the outside and in-house services as well as the immediacy of the procedure. Occasionally, a cat may not need to be spayed or neutered and sometimes they will not need a flea & tick treatment or deworming. These are typical variables. Other times we will need to spend a lot more for some special procedure and we generally try to raise funds for that specific issue. |
By the chart above you can see that the average cost for typical procedures is $160 per cat. We charge $220 for an adult cat, $240 for a kitten and generally our senior cats are $40 or are many times free. If you factor in the cost of maintaining our facilities we aren't making any money off of this venture.
