SURRENDERING
Surrendering your animal can be a traumatic event. Therefore, we encourage you to think about doing so with all seriousness. We at Ahimsa believe that a pet is part of the family and should remain in its "Forever Home". Still, we realize that circumstances pop up and giving up your pet may be unavoidable.
It is not always possible for us to take every animal as we are a relatively small group, but we do our part to serve the community. Thus, we may refuse to take your animal.
Since we will be taking care of your surrendered animal for an undetermined time, we ask that you make a voluntary contribution at the time of surrender to help cover our costs. It is up to you and not mandatory. Whether we agree to take your animal or not does not depend on a donation.
So, if you are interested in surrendering your animal, please proceed to fill out the surrender form thoroughly, and a volunteer will get back to you as soon as they are able. Please be patient. This is all done by volunteers who give their time to rescue animals and many of us have full-time lives and jobs! Thank you.
